Happy Spring, friends!
This perfect San Diego weather we've been having, chirping birds, and so many blooming flowers remind me that spring is officially here AND that's it's time to plant my bulbs!
In real estate news, we find ourselves in an extremely competitive seller's market. Great market for sellers, difficult (but not impossible!) for buyers. Mulitple offers, well over asking price, are common right now due to limited inventory coupled with more buyers entering the market to purchase homes that better fit their needs and hoping to take advantage of these historically low interest rates.
Never fear, buyers! There is a light at the end of this tunnel. Real estate analysts agree that we WILL see an increase in housing inventory. Here are some of the factors that may contribute to increased inventory:
Homeowners are thrilled to find out that they have more equity than expected and are starting to list their homes.
Homeowners that that were holding off on listing last year due to Covid concerns are now more comfortable and ready to sell!
More and more homeowners are finding their needs in a home have shifted during this last year and are downsizing or upsizing.
Investors are taking advantage of this seller's market and selling off their rentals
Starting April 2021 Proposition 19 further adds to increased inventory in that it allows those 55+ to move and carry their tax base with them anywhere. Read article below for more info on this.
